The Stables
At the stables, that date from 1912, 37 boxes are available to stable your horses. The boxes of 4 by 4m. are equipped with an automatic watering system. A heating device prevents the water from freezing in winter. The impressive facilities include a 20X40 m. indoor school, a 70X30 m. outdoor arena and a club-house where riders can relax and enjoy a snack after exercising their horses.
The care given to the horses is of a high quality in the purest British tradition of horsemanship. This is why Lord Newcastle Stables was the first riding establishment in Europe, outide of the United Kingdom, to be approved by the British Horse Society. British Horse Society examination courses
A note of caution
Our Certificate courses are mainly designed for those wishing to embark upon a career with horses. To this end, students must appreciate the necessity of carrying out all aspect of the work entailed in horse care : grooming, tack cleaning, mucking out and sweeping yards are amongst them. Only by learning to do such things well can students either be efficient themselves or know what standards can be fairly demanded from others. We must ask that students and their parents or guardians fully appreciate this point before undertaking a Certificate course. If you have any doubt by all means consider one of the various courses offered by the school, as listed further.
Medical safeguards
All students on long-term courses must present a certificate of health and medical fitness from their family doctor. If so advised by your family doctor, please also bring your medical records. All students should be fully immunised against tetanus. It is recommended that students from countries that do not have a reciprocal agreement with the Belgian National Health Service arrange some form of medical insurance to cover them against the cost of illness during their time here.
